Coffee anyone?

We didn't do anything exciting today, so I thought I would post pictures of how our day got started instead.


Our day begins when Gabe decides it's time to eat. :) Until then, our sweet baby boy sleeps next to our bed in his little hammock....the Amby bed.





This is Kate....a little moody until after her morning coffee....or as she likes to say, "coshey." And yes, she really does drink coffee.....bad habits start young. :)






Caffeine kicked in, she's all smiles after brother/sister diaper changes.

Random......

Well, today's post is just as the subject suggests...random. I thought I would just post several pictures showing what we have been up to the past couple of days. Here is how we have stayed busy this week.....




Gabe has a belly button!!! I guess he has always had one, but now it looks human. :) So, he got his first REAL bath....and of course, Kate had to help!











Kate has never really played in her crib...until now. She LOVES being in it! So, here she is sitting in a toy basket, in her crib, on top of lots of toys and with all her babies. She does this EVERY day!






Another new obesession....bows. We had been on the porch swinging and the wind was blowing her hair in her eyes so she wanted bows. Well, we started with two and she just kept saying, "more."





Ahhh...playdough. For any of you who know me well, you know I'm not a huge fan of the stuff. I hate the smell and the way it gets under your finger nails...and I really hate how it gets all over. But, we are at grandma & grandpa's house now so I have decided since they have tiled floors I can deal with it. And, Kate loves it! It had been an art class only treat before, but since we have no Gymboree art anymore...art class has come home. :)







This was Gabe first thing this morning watching Dora with Kate. :)






After dinner, Jon and I let Kate make an "Easy Bake" jello dessert. You had to push little gummy fish into the jello water....talk about messy. :)








And finally, for those interested, Gabe has his two week check-up today. He looked great and weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and 20 inches long. He's growing like a weed. :)

Hospital Photo

This is Gabe's picture from the hospital. :) It came in the mail yesterday, so I scanned it to share with you guys. I can't believe he will already be two weeks old tomorrow!

A Trip to the Beach

One thing my mom wanted for her birthday was to go to the beach for dinner. So, tonight we did just that....headed to the beach! And of course, since this was Gabe's first look at the ocean, we had to take lots of pictures. :)











Gabe decided just to catch a few rays of sun will Kate played in the water. :)






The restaurant had a little playground where Kate learned to hang from the rings. She LOVED hanging for a while and then crashing into the sand.







And at the end of the day, while Kate was still full of energy, little brother Gabe had enough fun for one day.....

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!! Or as Kate says it...."Happy Ma."

We celebrated the day by making grandma a very special "Happy Cake." Kate especially loved covering the cake with sugar sprinkles and candles. :)

can't forget Gabe

Although today's post is mostly about Kate, I couldn't let a day go by without also posting pictures of Gabe.


I know he is a week and a half old, but Gabe had his first "sponge bath" today. Kate would have had 5-10 baths by now, but her first two weeks of life were a little less hectic than his have been. :) I think we're finally getting settled in to my parent's house though.....

Thanks Apryl for this super cute onesie. I can't believe we didn't take pictures of the boys in their matching outfits. I guess Alexander already outgrew his though?

Kate had to share her train with sleeping baby brother. :)

A Day at the Park

Jon & I decided that since Kate has done amazingly well these past two weeks she deserved a "Kate day." So, we left Gabe to get some one-on-one time with Grandma & Grandpa and took Kate to the park downtown for some playtime and a picnic!


First she had to check out the playground, of course....



Then it was time to splash in the fountain....



Then she discovered the big "pond" and all the fishing boats that kept leaving the dock....



Kate's favorite....spinning.........or as she says it "spim, spim"



And finally, we ended the day by feeding the birds.....



Although very hot, we had so much fun and look forward to disovering new fun places to take Kate & Gabe.

1 week celebration

I know I am posting alot today, but with the move I wasn't able to sit down at the computer until now. So, I wanted to catch up on all the big events over the past few days.


Yesterday Gabe turned 1 week old so we had a little family celebration. And wow, what a week this little guy has had!!! As if being born isn't enough, he also went to his first birthday party, helped host a goodbye barbeque, and moved to a new city!

Goodbye Atlanta

On Tuesday we had to say a very emotional goodbye to our home in Powder Springs as well as to very great friends. Apryl, Sherry, Sophie, Bennett, Alexander, & Ava....we are going to miss you guys sooooo much!!! You are welcome to come visit us in St Marys anytime!

Happy Birthday Thomas

On Sunday Kate got to go to Thomas's 2nd Birthday party....which also happened to be Gabe's first outing! Kate loved all the bubbles and getting to see some of her friends before the move. Thanks for inviting us Thomas!!! Kate is going to miss you! :)

Meeting the Dogs

The dogs moved to St Marys with Jon this summer so arriving in town was exciting for them because they haven't seen Kate or me in a while. But more importantly, we are bringing home a baby! They were so excited and wanted to see and sniff Gabe. Then Bailey started acting crazy, jumping on and off the couch....I think he was just so excited! They were always sweet with Kate as a baby so I have no doubt they will adjust to baby #2 just fine!

Our new family

I thought I had put up this collage several days ago but somehow it's not there anymore??? Thanks Apryl for letting me know...I know you have been waiting to see the pictures. :) Here is our new little family. And thankfully, Kate still loves her new little baby! She just started putting toys by him....kind of scary, but also very sweet.

Pediatrician and PawPaw

After being cute for pictures, it's time to see the doctor! Today is Gabe's first and last appointment with Kate's current pediatrician, Dr Mark Long, with Kennesaw Pediatrics. We love it here are are sad to have to say goodbye. But, hopefully we will find a practice equally as great in the Golden Isles! Gabe was checked out from head to toe today and given the green light to make the 5 hour drive south to our new home!

Back at our home in Powder Springs, PawPaw gets in some quality time with his grandbabies!

Gabe's 5 Day Photo Shoot

Just as we did with Kate, we took Gabe to Kiddie Kandids today for his 5 Day Old Photo Shoot! The do such a great job with newborns and are always very patient. I just love how these pictures turned out!

By the time we were finshed with gabe and ready to add in Kate, she had already run through the store and back! So, her hair was a mess....oh well! There are lots more pictures in their future!
