Let's go to the Lake

Well, it was really a pond, but we had fun! After Jon got home from work, we decided to put the kids in the stroller and go for a walk to feed the ducks!

Kate loved throwing the bread. I think if we would have let her try, they might have even eaten it out of her hand!

After a while it was time to feed the fish and scare the ducks!

But as you can see, he enjoyed it too!

A Day at the Mall

So that Jon could have a "much needed game day," the kids and I headed to one of my favorite spots....the mall! I'll be honest, I was a little nervous taking both kids shopping by myself, but we had so much fun! Our first stop....The Disney Store!!! Kate is in love with Cinderella right now and since we are going to Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes in 13 days, she just had to get the proper princess attire. :) Then, after picking out her dress, we headed to the jewelry store for princess accessories....tiara, necklace, bracelet, and even clip-on diamond earrings! Kate was so excited!!! And afterwards, what did she call herself: Super hero princess Cinderella Kate! How cute is that?!? It's a mixture she came up with from an Elmo/Zoe book, and of course Cinderella!

Pictures of Princess Kate will have to wait until Disney on Ice!


After shopping, we headed to the food court for a late lunch. It was Kate's choice today...pizza!

And although today was mostly centered around Kate, Gabe had a great time today too!

After we finished eating, I asked Kate to watch her brother while I walked a few feet away to throw away our trash. By the look on his face, I think he must have thought I was crazy leaving his wild big sister in charge. :)



But, after the initial shock, he knew he was in good hands and remembered how much he loves Kate!

6 month check

Today was Gabe's 6 month 'well baby' check-up! Our doctor said he looked perfect. We already knew that of course, but it's always nice to hear it from the experts. :) Our only concern was the 3am feedings that Gabe has been wanting for about the past month (He was at one point sleeping through the night). Dr. Cooper thinks it has just become a habit in need of breaking. :(

Now for the numbers....

Weight: 15 pounds, 5 ounces (8%)
Height: 26inches (23%)
Head Circumference: 44.5 centimeters (63%)

Due to Gabe's steady decline in weight percentile (just like his sister until she finally stabilized at 10% around a year old), Dr. Cooper wants him to come back in a month for a weight check. But despite the low percentile, he still wants us to work on the 3am feeding and just try to get Gabe to make it up during the day.

Getting ready to leave, I realized I hadn't taken a picture of Gabe by himself. However, after 3 shots, this was as good as I could get. :) He really did great though and only cried until I picked him up.

Fun in the Sun

Today was such a beautiful day. In fact, if it weren't for the occassional bug, I might even say it was perfect! So, the kids and I got dressed for a day of play outdoors!

I decided that since Spring has sprung, the perfect way to celebrate the season is with a little garden. But, since I do NOT have a green thumb, we are going to plant a bean garden....I think just about anyone can grow a bean, right?!? :) Today Kate painted her pot and we will plant our beans tomorrow...

Kate woke up to find a trail of jellybeans that the Easter Bunny dropped. The jellybeans started at her room, went down the hallway, then led into the bunny footprints in the living room that headed up to the baskets he left for everyone!

First Kate got to check out all her goodies, then she helped Gabe explore his basket.

And before geting ready for church, she needed her morning coffee. :)

Six people trying to get ready in less than an hour with only two bathrooms is nearly impossible, but we did it! We made it to church on time!!! And, we were so glad we did. What an awesome service by Andy Stanley. Plus, Kate LOVES her Waumba Land friends!


After church a group of guys were doing this hand slap/clap production....sort of an advanced version of what little girls in Elementary school play.....Miss Mary Mack, mack, mack, All dressed in Black, black, black. :) Afterwards, Kate decided to try the hand jive thing with Dave & grandpa!

After church we headed to Grammy's house where the kids were excited to find that the Easter Bunny left them another basket!

And what would a family gathering be without yummy food! This year Kate & I made the Easter Egg wreath breah, colored deviled eggs, and the bunny cake.

One of the treats the Easter Bunny brought Gabe....carrots!!! He wasn't too sure if he liked them. I think he was closing his eyes in hopes that when he opened them again it would all go away. :)

Playtime! Gabe and Hannah were excited to see each other. And although she is about a month younger, for the first time she has now outgrown Gabe by 3+ inches!
