Gabe's 1st Day of Preschool = Kate's Last 1st Day of Preschool

Summer is over, time to wake up!!!!

Kate and Gabe have enjoyed staying up late this summer and sleeping in, but those days have come to an end......It's time for Happy Apple Academy!

This is how I found the kids when I went to wake them up. Kate was sleeping soundly in her bed, but Gabe had moved into our room sometime during the night.

Kate woke up happy and ready for school. Gabe on the other hand wouldn't budge!

It took turning on the lights and all of us tickling him to even get a response!

The funny thing is that almost any other morning the kids would be the complete opposite! Gabe is always our early happy riser and Kate is NOT a morning person!

Still very sleepy, but we're hoping some Chocolate Milk will do the trick!

An hour later, we were dressed, happy, and ready for school!

The kids are so excited to be going to school together this year!

We LOVE Happy Apple Academy!!!

1st Day of Preschool

We all had to be there for Gabe's 1st day!

We arrived in plenty of time to take lots of pictures too of course! :)

Once Jon & I had taken pictures of the kids, we told them that Grandma & PawPaw were also on their way. Gabe got sooo excited and immediately ran to the sidewalk to watch for them! When he saw them coming down the street he started waving and yelling for them! :)

The moment has come...time for school!

Gabe was happy to go with Mrs. Kolgaklis. She gave him his nametag and introduced him to his class. Gabe is fortunate to already have three good friends with him, but I know he will make lots of new friends this year too!

Thanks to such a great group of teachers who put up with all my pictures!, they let me sneak into Bailey hall to take pictures of their 1st day. :) I was glad to see gabe looking like he was doing fine. He was chewing his fingers which he does when he is nervous, but he seemed fine and was able to sit with Kate during assembly. Kate is a pro at Bailey Hall and was chosen this morning to hold the flag for the Pledge of Allegience!

After leaving Bailey Hall, I went with some mommy friends to breakfast. Coming back to the school to get my car, the Yellow Apples were just getting on the playground. Gabe walked out and without seeing me, walked straight over to the fence on the far side and just stared out. His teacher saw me and walked over to ask him what was wrong. His response, "Where's my Grandma?" Gabe loves his Grandma so much and I guess thought that maybe she was still waiting outside for him. Mrs. Kolgaklis then pointed to me but he came over and asked again to me this time, "Where's Grandma." I told him that she was at work but coming to see him after school. he came closer to me on the fence and grabbed my hands then asked, "Am I done now?" I was assured that he was having a great 1st day but I think he was obviously a little sad....

Mrs. Kolgaklis & Mrs. Lori were able to get Gabe on the swings and back playing with his friends. I left to go get after school surprises!

It's 12:00!

The first day of school is over....time to get my babies back!

I know we got overboard sometimes, but it's fun!

My mom & I both bought the kids yellow and purple gifts and snacks.

We decided to join Grandma & PawPaw at Wendy's for a yummy after school lunch.

Once back home, the kids were ready to play!!!!

Open House at Happy Apple Academy

I couldn't be more excited about this evening....school is about to start again! We love Happy Apple sooo much and I can't wait for Gabe to get to experience all the fun this year with his big sister! Tonight is Open House. We already know their teachers, but it will still be fun to check out their classrooms and get a peak at some of the kids who will be in their classes. Right before we left our house it started pouring! But, my kids love rain so it certainly didn't slow us down!

This is truly a very happy place. As their theme songs states, "It's a Happy Apple World!"

Gabe is starting out as a Yellow Apple this year, and Kate will end her time at Happy Apple Academy as a Purple Apple. They are both going to school 3 days a week....and their classrooms are across the hall from each other!

Kate has seen Amelia & Caroline throughout the summer, but the girls are still excited to be together as Purple Apples this year!!!! They met as Yellow Apples and are now all grown up!

And Gabe gets to be with Riley as a Yellow Apple!!!

Kate sat down in both the Yellow & Purple classrooms to color instead of playing with toys.

She colored the 3 apples Yellow, Orange, & Purple since those are the apple colors she has been at Happy Apple.
