Cops and Bobbers

Fun day fishing with the cops in St. Marys! Lots of food, bobbers, and a few fish we're told ;), at the annual St. Marys Police Department Cops & Bobbers fishing tournament.

Supposedly this pond was stocked for today's event....I have my doubts!

We waited, and we waited, and about three hours later we finally gave up!

A handful of kids did catch a fish, but we never even had a nibble on the line!

Ready for Pre-K

 Can't believe this kid starts pre-K in a few weeks! My baby is growing up too soon! Mrs. Lentz, Grant has been working hard this summer on his letters.... Zoophonics here we come!

He was soooo proud of himself after writing his name!

Mud Bath

Just doing a little bit of yard work before school starts back.... He is ALL boy!

Babyland General Hospital

Gabe's camp was located only about 5 miles down the street from the Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland Hospital.  I have always wanted to take Kate here because she loves dolls so much.  It would have been so much more magical if she were Grant's age, but she was still pretty excited even at 10 years old.

Interesting facts.....

This place was pretty fascinating....and semi creepy.  The workers were really into their jobs...and never strayed from character or the fact that these dolls were really alive!  I think Grant was thoroughly confused....

An announcement was made that a baby was being born!

Everyone gathered around the tree, a nurse was brought out, and we waited with great anticipation to see who would be born.  And let me tell you, it was like being in a real delivery room!

And here we have it..."It's a girl!"

Kate doesn't actually love Cabbage Patch dolls and much prefers the American Girl look/style, but it was hard not to get wrapped up in the excitement of a live birth and not want one too!  And for around $300, you too can adopt a baby born from the tree.

Once born and vitals assessed, the newborn is whisked away to the nursery until the adoption papers are settled.  It's really so cute...definitely made me wish I had brought Kate here when she was younger.

It was such a hard decision choosing a baby to adopt!

The already born babies were much more affordable....and the boys were excited to adopt a stuffed animal.

In the end, Kate made the tough decision and found the perfect baby to adopt.

And within minutes of making the five hour drive home....all three kids were sound asleep!

Winshape Camps - Family Fun Friday

So happy to have my family back together again! Thank you WinShape Camp and Chick-fil-a for an amazing week where Kate and Gabe enjoyed a week of intense fun and learned what it means to truly follow Jesus in everything they do.

We got up early this morning to travel down the mountain from Bear Paw to Young Harris to meet Kate! Grant was especially excited to see his big sister!

It was wonderful to see Kate smiling and with her new friends.

I know she is going to miss these girls...but we've already signed her up to head back to camp next summer!

Dorm room chores....

After meeting in the dorm room, we were all led to one final chapel service together.

We also found out that Winshape Camp for Girls is celebrating their 30th year!

Kate was a little disappointed leaving because the final event is a big family style picnic with bounce houses, hosted by Chick-fil-A.  Well, unfortunately the pickup time for Gabe is only two hours after Kate, and it takes an hour to get from her camp to his.  So, after meeting in the dorm, chapel, and a couple quick pictures, it was time to grab our lunch to go and head south to Gabe.  I do wish the camp would build in a little extra time so that we could have hung out and had lunch with Kate and her friends.

We made it to Gabe's camp just as he was finishing up lunch.

Even the cow came for a visit today!

Kate and Gabe discovered a new game at both of their camps this week:  GaGa Ball!

It's kind of like dodgeball, but in a small arena....looked like lots of fun!

Gabe's camp also ended with a final family style chapel.

Winshape Camp for Girls - Thursday

I finally got to see a second skill choice for Kate....rollerblading!!

She was hoping for this one too...so glad to see that she got her favorite choices this week!

Kate's in the audience in this picture.  I'm not sure if that means she also got selected for drama, or if maybe she just went to watch the drama group perform.

This is a messy crazy night of games.  Unfortunately, this is the only picture I could spot Kate in, with her back turned to the camera, but from the pictures posted of other girls, this looked like a super fun event for everyone!
