Gabe's 2 Year 'Well-Check'

My little boy is growing up! Today Gabe & I went to see Dr Cooper for the 2 year Well-Check! While waiting to be called, he & I had fun playing and riding his tricycle in the parking lot...then into the office for his appointment! Yep, he actually rode his bike into the office today...good thing he's cute & little and can get away with stuff like that!

Checking height, weight, and temperature...all 3 great!

Gabe is 33 inches tall (16th %) and weighs 24 pounds (14th %)

Gabe did amazing with his shot, finger prick, and flu mist....not even 1 tear!

But, soon after leaving he was passed out in the back seat!

Craft Day!

As co-chair of Crafts for the Mom's Club, today was my day to host our art project at the park. And since it is Fall and the weather is starting to cool off, I decided it would be fun and appropriate for all the kids to make "Autumn Trees!"

Happy 4th Birthday Aiden!

I really can't say enough great things about Kate's preschool, Happy Apple Academy. But, there is just one minor drawback, they have carpool. Okay, so most of the time I love carpool, but the thing I don't like so much is that I never get to see Kate interact with her classmates or meet the other moms. Today however, I got to meet one of Kate's school friends - Aiden - at his 4th Birthday Party!!! Kate and Aiden have apparently become fast friends this school year so it was great to finally meet him!

While Kate ran around with her school friends and I kept an eye on Gabe, all the other parents suddenly looked at me. I missed it, but apparently Kate shoved Aiden into a corner, grabbed his cheeks, and KISSED him!!! It really starts this young?!? :)

Aiden had a Batman themed party and Kate especially loved her mask party favor!

Later in the evening we went over to Granny Annie's house for dinner. While the kids were out...no more than 5 minutes!... getting pecans from the pecan tree, Gabe instantly became attacked by blood sucking mosquitos! My poor little boy has always seemed to attract them and swells up a bit, but tonight was horrible! You can't see the swelling very much in the picture, but he had over 10 bites on his face plus several more on his arms and legs! This is why Gabe wears OFF Deep Woods! It's crazy!

Kate LOVES tap & ballet! She is doing amazing in her classes, going twice a week to study under Ms. Monica at Just Dance....we love her! Anyway, Kate has so much fun excpet for one little thing, she was the oldest in class. Her class is designed for 3-5 year olds, but at almost 4, Kate was in class with 3 'almost' or just turned 3 year olds. I know that in some ways 1 year doesn't seem like alot any more, but in ballet, and in Kate's mind, she was in class with babies. So, since she was doing well, Monica told us we could try Kate in "Pre-ballet" for the 5-8 year olds. Well, we did, and she LOVES it!!!! She has loved the change from Day 1, but it didn't hurt that we got Kate's friend Alana to sign up and start with the older girls too! Kate looks like the baby now, but she seesm to be holding her own with the older girls and is quickly learning all the new positions and dance steps!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

We want to wish a very Happy Birthday to one of the most amazing people we know.... GRANDMA!!!!!!

Today we surprised my mom with a birthday lunch with friends and family and later had a fun dinner at home. Happy Birthday Grandma....We Love You!!!!

Katy's Kastle

While searching online for a party store I stumbled upon this fun looking indoor playground! I actually drive right by here and have seen it every time I take the kids to the pediatrician...and never knew what it was....crazy! Anyway, I called a few friends and today we decided to go check it out. It was great....and aside from one other little boy, we were the only ones there!

Soccer Tots!

Gabe and Kate are neither one quite old enough to play soccer in town yet, but a group of us decided to start getting together on our own to at least work on some basic skills and get the kids moving! We are meeting on Mondays, so Kate is in school, but Gabe sure did have fun today!

Once we got to the field Gabe took some time to study all the grooves on his ball. Then he decided that there was no way he was letting it go to kick it at the chance one of his friends might take it away!

Finally, after realizing that everyone brought their own ball, Gabe relaxed and had a blast! He spent most of the time lining up a ball for me and his ball for himself, then we would each take turns kicking it into the goal. The girls were a little more interested in running around, but they did play a little too. Gabe's friend Gavin was around also but knew it was way too hot today to chase after balls! I will say, Gabe seemed very interested today....maybe someday he'll be my little soccer star!!! :)

After soccer and school, Kate imediately went on a bug hunt.

First she found this little grasshopper hoping toward our house....

....then she found this creepy spider on our porch!

Only a few minutes in the house and I knew it was too quiet.

Kate & Gabe came runnig out of her bedroom to show me a surprise!

Today we had a perfect little shower- light rain, no lightning - so when we got home and the kids asked to play in it, I agreed! Gabe was freezing, but they both had a blast!
