Fun at Fall Festivals!

Since we already went Trick-or-Treating last night, and tonight is Halloween, it looks like we'll be spending the evening at several local Fall Festivals!!!

Our first stop....Christ's Church Camden for Neewolah Fest

(that's Halloween done 180 style)

This is what we saw on stage at this church this morning...definitely a 1st for us on a Halloween Sunday! It was fun though to see so many people dressed up fun on a Sunday morning!

Back to church a few hours later for Neewolah Fest/Trunk-or-Treat!

Next Stop....Kingsland Baptist/Methodist Fall Festival

We have been hearing about this festival for weeks! Ms. Tonya at Chick-fil-A has been planning this for quite a while now...and anything she does is always amazing...so we knew this would be huge. It was! I'll be honest, it was a little more crowded than I would have liked, but it was amazing....kind of like a trip to Disney in the summer. It's incredible and you love everything, but you are surrounded by LOTS of people and long lines! But just like Disney, we will of course be back next year!

There were LOTS of games! And each one gave the kids candy!

We planned to go to this festival with all of our friends, but as soon as we walked in and saw the crowd, it was clear that a large group together would be impossible! But, we did say hi to several friends throughout the evening....

The most incredible thing about this awesome festival is that everything was free!

Including the food and yummy snow cones! Thank you Kingsland for lots of fun!!!





It was nearing the final hour of the festival and the kids still wanted to get in line for the bounce houses, ponies, and cake walk. (Yes, they had everything!) The lines were so long though that I knew they could only do one thing one time if we stood in line for thse most popular activities. So, I promised the kids a third (smaller) festival tonight if we could just leave. They agreed!

Our final stop: Agape's Slime Fest!

My parents' go to church at Agape (where I went growing up) so we know lots of wonderful people at this church and always enjoy seeing everyone. Coming here for a short visit just to bounce was an easy solution for me to the crowds in Kingsland!

Every year for their Fall Festival they rent this giant obstacle course inflatable...and my kids love it! Notice Kate at the bottom of the slide ready to catch Gabe who is at the top!

This is what the kids did when they first got out of the car and saw the obstacle course. Kate got a huge grin on her face and Gabe started laughing and shaking his fists in the air (what he always does when he gets excited! Then he grabbed on tightly to Kate and waited in the much shorter line! Thank you sooo much Agape! You guys always do such a great job too....I think we might even come here first next year!

Making it through the first set of obstacles, they were faced with the wall climb....monitored by none other than Mr. Scott! The funny thing about this is that when Gabe begged me at the last festival to let him bounce he kept saying, "Just go ask Mr. Scott!" We hadn't even talked about coming here yet or that Scott would be here! Is it possible that at just three years old he remembers that Mr Scott monitored the Halloween bounce house last year...when Gabe would have only just turned two???! I know I'm his mom so of course I am biased, but Gabe's memory is shocking sometimes! I think he is going to be one very smart (and possibly very stubborn) little boy!

Wheeeee! Let's go again!

Painting/Carving Pumpkins

We intended to paint and carve our pumpkins yesterday afternoon before the football game, but it just didn't happen! Tonight is Halloween though so better late than never! Plus, with the humidity being so high here, carved pumpkins get moldy in about 36 hours and begin to fill with fruit flies! The kids picked out their little pumpking when we went to Conner's Amazing Acres and were excited to finally get to make them special!

The finished designs! We let the paint dry and then the kids picked out "add-on" pieces for their pumpkin people. Kate said that her pumpkin is "Pearl the Purple Pirate Princess!" Gabe was just going for "Silly!" After adding the initial pieces for the face, he then started adding extra pieces all over. I think he mostly just wanted to use the little carving tool to cut holes and thought he would get away with it easier if then he stuck decorations in all those holes!

Now time to carve our big pumpkin!

Kate loved scooping out all the seeds and pumpkin guts this year.

Once Kate got out all the insides, she then started picking out all the seeds because she wants to cook them. She gets to taste pumpkin seeds every year at school and loves them!

The kids wanted to add hair to our pumpkin this year,

so they decided to pick out a simple face design.

Trick-or-Treat

With the Florida/Georgia game almost over and dusk quickly approaching, it's time to load up the kids to Trick-or-Treat! This year we didn't have very far to go. Our friend Griffen lives across the street and every year for Halloween his family does a hayride through the neighborhood, stopping at every house with porch lights turned on!

Granny Annie came over for dinner during the game,

but she is heading home while we collect candy!

We all had so much fun tonight! And after riding through most of the neighborhood on the hayride, the kids decided they wanted to ride on the golf cart with Grandma & PawPaw instead! Treva and her dog Peanut came along for all the fun too!
