New Years Eve!

Let the party begin!!!!

Kate & Gabe want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!!!

We came over to Grandma & PawPaw's house tonight

to have fun, watch the ball drop on tv, and ring in the New Year!

We are ready for midnight!

Our friend Treva and her mom came over to celebrate with us for a couple of hours.

And while they were here, we also finally got to exchange our Christmas presents wth each other. Afterwards, Kate led us all in a fun game of Red Light/Green Light!

Kate told me this afternoon that since it is New Years Eve, we had to make "clock cookies."
When I asked her what she was talking about, she told me that Max & Ruby (the cartoon bunnies) made cookies and decorated them to look like clocks for their New Years Eve party. I knew we still had a pack of sugar cookies at home that we didn't back for Christmas, so she was in luck! Plus, I thought it was a pretty cute idea!

Once the cookies were cooled, Kate helped with the icing.

She then tried to use the black icing to design the clock, but decided it was a bit too tough.

She was right! I did my best on a few clocks, but then decided we would just write out numbers to count down to 2011! I'll have to try to watch Max & Ruby to see how they decorated their cookies before next years New Years Eve party!

After a bit, Kate decided it was time to have a dance party!

Grandma got out the Pippi Longstocking mopping shoes, Kate turned up the Christmas music, and the three of them danced like crazy!

Gabe kept spinning and saying, "I just can't stop!" over and over and over!

We are entering the final hour of 2010...and the kids are still going strong!

Kate told me earlier today that she was little last year, but she knew she wasn't falling asleep before midnight this time...and she was right! Gabe also managed to stay wide awake all night!

Last trip for the year to Chick-fil-A

It's almost 2011!!!

But, the new year can't come before we make one last trip to Chick-fil-A with our friends!!!

After lunch and play, the kids opted to trade in their toys for an ice cream cone!

Kate & Gabe have gotten to where they think they are too big for mommy to go up to the counter with them, so I stayed back out of sight and took pictures.

We are so thankful to have been surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family this year! 2010 has been a great year for us,

but we look forward to new adventures and excitement that awaits us in 2011!

Grandma's Radio

Kate & Gabe wanted to listen to Grandma on the radio this morning.They sat patiently in front of Gabe's new radio until Grandma said hi to them and played them a song.

They were very excited!

Bailey enjoyed listening to Grandma too!

After listening for a bit, it was time to play dress-up!

The kids went through Gabe's accessory drawer to see what they could find!

In the end, Gabe looked quite cute!

Bedtime

Bedtime at our house has never been easy. When Kate was a baby, she would literally throw up within a few minutes of putting her to bed because of a separation anxiety. We would literally line her crib with towels every night to make the cleanup process easier. Jon & I eventually had it down to a science....and thankfully one day it just stopped! As she got older, she still never wanted to sleep alone and would therefore need one more kiss, more water, need to go potty, alligators under the bed, etc.....all the typical bedtime stalling tactics! Then, Gabe came along! He was very easy as a baby and toddler, but now he's a little boy! And little boys and big sisters like to PLAY!!!! Gabe also decided that he can't sleep alone and needs to sleep with Kate. She of course acts annoyed and says she needs "private time" but then lets him in when she thinks of all the fun they can have instead of going to sleep! And boy do they have fun! We threaten lights out, separation, taking toys, you name it, but the fun never ends! Well, eventually they wear themselves out! We also turn lights out after a while, but since it's Christmas break, we have been a bit more lenient...plus we get tto enjoy that they sleep in a little later!

Tonight I decided that since they were being so silly, I would capture a bit of their bedtime fun!

Then after bouncing and laughing and telling jokes, they are finally exhausted!

Gabe even decided to go to his own bed!
Sweet dreams my babies....we'll have lots more fun tomorrow!

Wii Fit

Jon's parents got us Wii Fit plus for Christmas....and we LOVE it!

It's not only fun, but also a pretty good workout. Well, after watching us exercise and seeing all the fun games, Kate wanted in on the action! She already has a Mii for games, but now she has been measured and set up to exercise! I was surprised at how well she did in understanding all the moves! Now we are going to get Nickelodeon Fit for her & Gabe so that they too can exercise to games and activities geared more for them!
