This is a bittersweet Christmas evening....it is almost certainly the final Christmas we will ever celebrate at Grammy's house. :( My Grandma's house has been on the market for a while now but getting closer and closer to a buyer....
To mark the end of an era, Grandma put up a Christmas tree this year instead of just using the plant she has substituted for a tree over the past few years. The living room looked beautiful!

at the same time while looking at the camera is NOT an easy task!
After enjoying dinner, the kids were more than ready to start opening gifts!

The final Christmas at Grammy's......
We were all feeling a little sad, walking down memory lane, missing loved ones who are no longer here with us, and wishing to slow down time. But then......God has a way of changing the mood sometimes when you need a little pick me up! The toilets have never been great here because the plumbing is old. Well all of a sudden both bathrooms were flooding!!! Water was everywhere are running out of the bathrooms onto carpet, coming out of the toilets and tub....it was a total disaster! Thank goodness for Lane & Dean for kind of knowing how to shut everything off and for my mom and dad for quickly jumping in to form the clean-up crew....but oh what a mess! That said, it quickly turned our sadness into chaos and laughter, a Christmas we will never forget, and a lasting thought that maybe it's time for a new chapter to begin.....
The kids weren't quite yet ready to end the evening, so while the guys were cleaning up the mess,
we all drove across town to cousin Hannah's house for a little more Christmas fun!
