The weather forecast wasn't looking great for today, but I had already promised to take the kids to Fernandina for an Egg Drop, so we decided to chance the rain and head to Florida. As the time was nearing for the drop to occur, the thunder could be heard in the distance. Then, to make things worse, the helicopter was delayed about 30 minutes, and we were all beginning to worry it just wasn't going to happen!
Grant had his eye on that green egg the whole time!
Green is his favorite color so he just knew it must have inside it something great!
The moment finally arrived....the helicopter was here!!!
Everyone was so excited as we watched hundreds of eggs being scattered on the field!
Kate had picked her own spot away from us where she thought she had a better chance of getting a prize egg, so I wasn't able to see her during the actual hunt. No of us actually ended up with a special prize, but we all had fun and got plenty of candy and stickers!
At the end of the egg drop, the hosting church announced that just down the street was a big Easter Festival. With the rain mostly holding off, we decided to go check it out. I'm so glad that we did because the kids loved it! At check in they were each given cards with various stations listed. Each station had a Bible character telling their story.
Once the cards ere completed, they went to the prize table to pick out a wooden cross necklace.
The kids also had the opportunity to earn tickets during the Easter Egg hunts to turn in for additional prizes. Gabe picked out this awesome Bible and was excited to start reading.
God has big plans for this boy!
Then there is Kate & Grant....God has great things planned for these two silly kids too!
Kate's age group for the hunt was last. I love her look of determination!
She was thrilled with her basket full of eggs!
