MOSH

After fun and games at Chuck E Cheese, the kids and I headed downtown to visit MOSH!
We haven't been here in a few months so the kids were excited to check out the new exhibit!

Kate always wants a picture inside the giant mouth!

We arrived at the museum just in time for "Animal Encouters!"

Kate was very excited for the opossum to come out to play!

It took Gabe a few extra minutes to warm up to this cute cuddly creature,
but soon enough both he and Kate loved playing with Daisy!

The new exhibit....."The Universe of Science!"

This exhibit has lots of fun experiments, but sadly many of them were broken.
I guess they couldn't quit hold up against all the Spring Breakers!

This was Gabe's favorite exhibit!
He loved watching and helping to make the balls move all around this giant contraption.

Kate's favorite was this machine that drew pictures by spinning the arms!

Now time for our favorite thing at MOSH....The Science Lab!!!!

Kate really hoped to try out something and she did! She got to help with THREE experiments! First she got to go up and touch this machine....to get shocked! Then she held hands with a group of kids where they were all shocked when one kid touched the machine.

Finally, Kate was asked to come up and hold a light stick.
When she walked close to one of the machines the lightbulb started glowing! The electricity was through the air.
Very exciting for Kate!!!

It was still raining when we finished in the museum, so we used that as an excuse to play in the museum playground for a while until the rain stopped! We have had a fun day in Jacksonville. After this we'll head over to Grammy's house for dinner and then home for bed!

Chuck E. Cheese

Another rainy Spring Break day....but we're not going to let that stop us from having fun this week!
We loaded up and headed to Chuck E Cheese!!!

After a greasy and delicious pizza, it is time to spend some tokens!!!!

Most of our time was spent like this...Kate on the rides - Gabe on the video games.

But, I did manage to get pictures of Gabe on the few things he did ride! They both LOVED being here today!

We were nearing the end of our tokens and I wanted to get the kids some tickets to use for a prize. So, we moved over to the big kid side to play some ticket games....and we won big! Well, the kids thought so at least. ;) We ended up with enough tickets to get two snakes, two toy cars, and some candy....Kate & Gabe were happy!

Sand Art

It has been such a rainy Spring Break, but this morning we are pulling out the crafts! The kids got sand art kits for their birthdays and they have been waiting ever since to pull them out. Today seemed like the perfect day!

I was surprised with how carefully they each poured the colored sand into their containers.

They LOVED this project!

They each filled two containers...which left them with a few more for another rainy day!

Cole Brothers Circus

It's been a rainy cold start to our Spring Break, but this afternoon we got to forget about that for a couple hours and go to the circus!!! Notice that we are not dressed for winter because I had no idea it was so cold outside! Oh well, it wasn't too bad once we were finally in the tent.

Gabe, not so much! He is not a fan!

Finally, the thing we were most excited for Gabe to see....the motorcycles!

Gabe loved the first part, but then when the big truck brought out the cage,

his whole face lit up with excitement and anticipation!

What are they going to do with the cage?!?

Three motorcyles in one little cage....unbelievable!!!!

In the past they have had 6 or 7 riders in this cage....I hope they didn't have an accident.

Rain Dance

Well, it's Spring Break from school! After several weeks of sunny and hot weather, I expected to spend the week outdoors and maybe even a day at the beach. Well, it's Monday....and it's freezing outside and raining! And this is what they are calling for ALL WEEK! Are you kidding?!? So much for the beach and the start of my summer tan! Looks like we'll be finding indoor activities to fill up our days..... But, we all need to play in the rain every once in a while! The kids put on their rain gear and headed outside! Kate was singing and dancing and loving every minute! Gabe had fun at first, but at the first sound of distant thunder he looked at me like I was crazy for letting him be out there when lightning could follow that boom! He stayed with his sister for a couple of minutes but was soon ready for a warm bath!

Caterpillar Season

Kate finds a new caterpillar (or two!) almost every day and is loving it!

We can't wait to see all those beautiful butterflies this Spring!
